When pain shows the way

I could lie to you and sugarcoat everything, but right now, at this very moment, I could scream. My mood has been so low all day that it could touch the earth’s core, and my middle finger is always ready to show itself to the world. Yesterday, dear Brunhilde announced her arrival. She took me by surprise with a tiredness and heaviness that is still getting on my nerves. The most annoying thing for me is that there was no reason for it. Nothing unusual happened. Nothing that would justify these feelings. Maybe it’s just the heat that’s bothering me so much. Summer is just not my season. While everyone else is swimming somewhere, I’m happy to be in the shade, preferably indoors.
How timely that I am writing the article on the Three of Swords in precisely this mood. This card is quite powerful. Especially in the Dark Wood Tarot, the heart is not depicted as a romantic drawing, but rather as a beating, red heart. Pierced by the 3 swords, it hangs in the spider’s web. Trapped in our own thoughts, we feel the pain. Didn’t we just have the end of this cycle yesterday? Well, it is what it is.
This card can represent many things. Perhaps it is a sentence that strikes us today or a situation that is bothering us. Perhaps it is also a realization or an experience that cuts deep into our hearts. Whatever it is, it will hurt today. But this card also has something exciting about it. The swords open our hearts. They literally tear them open, creating the possibility for light to enter again. This moment is really not great, and we would all like to do without it. But we can grow from this story.
Perhaps today you will take off your rose-colored glasses and see someone for who they really are. Perhaps you will realize that you have been on the wrong path to your goal and now you will learn a new direction. You realize it won’t be easy, but whatever it is, you can do it. We can do it. If you like, we can do it together.
The beauty of it is that today we will definitely become aware of the right path. We are accompanied through the fog that obscures our vision with pain. Perhaps all you have now is this bad feeling, but let it guide you. Feel beyond it. Why does it hurt so much? What were your expectations? What were your ideas? What would you have to do to turn the situation around for the better?
You carry the answer within you. Just as fish in the sea always find their way from the murky depths to the clear water. Listen to yourself and hear what your body is telling you. Listen to what your brain is telling you and, above all, listen to your heart.
If you simply don’t know what to do with your pain today, think about which people would be good for you. Meet up with them, call them, get in touch. Often, just listening to a loved one is enough to make us feel better. Maybe they will also give you a clue as to the direction to take, like in a school of fish. For me, by the way, it was enough to go to one of my favorite places, spontaneously see my favorite person, and now write this post. We all have something that makes us feel better. Maybe I’ll play a little PlayStation later or read something. I trust that something will come to mind.
You can trust yourself in the same way. Do what you enjoy and what brings you joy, even if it’s just a spark. A spark is better than nothing. I’ll leave it at this shorter version today. Feel free to write me in the comments what’s going on with you. Maybe it will help you to get it off your chest.
