Let your dream fly

Today, the tarot card brings back some childhood memories for me. Perhaps you also know the story of Nils Holgerson. Enchanted by a gnome because he was a naughty boy, he travels across Sweden on the back of a goose. He gets to know the world he lives in anew. Full of childlike wonder, he travels across the country, helps animals in need, and faces various, sometimes dangerous, adventures.

This card invites you to dream. It literally calls you to dream. The Knight of Cups is blessed with the imagination of children. As soon as he reads a story, he immerses himself completely in it, and when it is over, it lives on in his heart. He is also the bearer of mostly romantic messages. He often comes when we are too caught up in our rational thinking. Then he reminds us that there is a world full of feelings outside our minds. The following quote perfectly describes the Knight of Cups:

One sees clearly only with the heart. What is essential is invisible to the eye.

Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

Don’t you feel like sitting behind him on the heron and embarking on a little adventure? Where would your journey take you? To distant lands or to a place of your imagination? I invite you to dream.

Let your dream fly

What is your greatest wish or dream? Can you describe it? What is it that you desire? Is it something material? Or a feeling that you would like to experience again? It can be anything, because it is your dream. No one else can help you dream it, and no one else has any influence on this desire. It belongs to you alone. You are allowed to think only for yourself, even if you usually have to consider others. Take time for your dream, imagine it, shape it.

According to the law of attraction, which has caused a great deal of excitement over the last ten years, wishing works like this:

  1. Formulate your wish in as much detail as possible.
  2. Imagine the moment when it comes true.
  3. Let go so that it can come true.

We are now going to do exactly that for your dream. Imagine there is a balloon in front of you. It can be any shape or color. This is where your dream goes, so design it exactly how you want it to be. What color is it? Does it have a pattern? Does it sparkle or does it have something very special about it? When you are satisfied with your vision, take it in your hands in your mind.

Bring it to your mouth and with each breath you fill it with your dream. Let it grow and become bigger. Your dream is filled with your very own magic and you feel how the balloon is ready to rise into the sky. Once your balloon is full, tie a knot in it. How big has it become? Look at it and admire your work. Now let’s tie it to a string so it doesn’t just slip away.

This is the moment when many of us stop. They have formulated their dream in such a way that it is tangible. They enjoy the image and when life gets too stressful, they look at it. They gaze at it longingly and dream about it. It’s nice, isn’t it? But is that enough for you? Is it enough just to dream, or do you want to make it come true? If you answer “yes” to this question, then let’s continue.

You are welcome to spend as much time as you like with your dream. But imagine the day when it comes true. What would that day look like? Would you feel it right after you wake up, or would the magic come unexpectedly and unplanned? How does it feel when you sense fulfillment? Do you feel happiness? Gratitude? Joy? Who would you tell about this miracle? What would you do to celebrate this day? Think about what would make this day perfect. Because just like your dream, this day is also something very special just for you.

Are you ready? Have you spent enough time with your dream? Are you sure?

Now many of us hesitate. Is the dream perfect enough to come true? Have I really imagined the moment of fulfillment enough? Doubts always arise as to whether it is enough. We ask ourselves whether we are dreaming too big, whether we have a right to fulfillment. Whether we deserve it flashes through our minds. Again and again, we prevent ourselves from fulfillment, and some of us even prevent ourselves from dreaming.

I tell you: there is no yardstick for your dream. Since it is your personal miracle, you don’t need to and can’t compare it to anything else. You shaped it, you put all your effort into it. It is ready. Trust me. Overcome your last doubts and let’s take the final step.

The “Cut Ties” card helps us here. Take the knife shown on the card. Hold the knife in one hand and the balloon string in the other. The final step is to let go. Feel the weight of the blade. It’s time. A single cut, that’s all it takes. Then your dream can fly and truly come true. With this cut, you’re not just letting go of him. You cut away everything that prevents you from dreaming. You detach yourself from the connections that restrict you. You detach yourself from the patterns that keep you trapped in a spiral. You even detach yourself from the people and places that are not good for you. All this can be done with a single cut.

Watch your dream. Watch it rise higher and higher. It flies higher and higher and gets smaller and smaller until you can no longer see it. You have done everything to make it come true. Now you let the universe do its work. Give it time to open the paths so that your dream can come true.

That wasn’t so easy, was it? I know. We are no longer used to dreaming, and even less to believing in fulfillment. Sit back and enjoy this moment. You did it.
