Aradia & divine energy: Healing begins within you

She once came into the world to teach the oppressed the craft of witchcraft. They were to free themselves from their chains, from their masters and their persecutors. Aradia, the goddess of witches, is a controversial goddess. Whether there was an ancient religion in her honor or whether she was first born through literature is a matter of dispute among believers and historians. I believe that ultimately it doesn’t matter. Her energy exists. Whether in books, in people’s hearts, or even as a topic of debate in panel discussions.

I personally believe that there is a divine energy that unites us all. It exists in each of us and in every figure that humans have ever imagined. If people dreamed of a god because they needed an explanation for the lightning in the sky, then divine energy took shape precisely for that purpose. It took the form of a god, and as long as people believe in that god, it will retain that form. It itself knows no good or evil. It simply is. It exists to create. Many of our deities have changed throughout history. They were given different tasks, taken to other continents and distant lands, and given new names there. Sometimes part of the energy remained in the old and part became the new.

So when a being is created in a book or a film, it is this energy that either reveals itself or creates exactly what the heart can believe in. For me, they all exist. Whether they are Egyptian, Norse, Celtic, or Japanese beings. As long as someone believes in them, they can exist. And there will always be someone who gives them a platform, because energy seeks opportunities to be seen. Today, we find deities in movies, video games, music, and all forms of art. Everywhere, divine energy shows itself with exactly the face it represents at that moment. It inspires creators. It shows them what it looks like. It expresses itself. This reminds us humans of what lies behind the veil of our five senses.

So it doesn’t matter when this energy took the form of Aradia. She has inspired many people. It helped them to rise up from the ruins of a world that was not created for them. Aradia teaches us that we can continue to develop, even if the world around us does not. We are only responsible for our own lives, not for others. We cannot change the world, but we can change how we perceive it. We can be proud of ourselves if no one else is. We can value ourselves even if no one else pats us on the back. And we can carry that message out into the world. It doesn’t matter whether the world likes it or not—this life is yours!

Once you accept that you are only responsible for yourself, you will grow. You will heal and you will ease the pain. The path to yourself takes time. Even the tree on the “Healing Energy” card needed time to dig its roots so deep into the earth and stretch its branches so high into the sky. It takes patience; growth does not happen overnight. Give yourself time to be reborn.

If you like, sit down on a chair and lean back. Feel your spine nestle against the backrest. Close your eyes and imagine that you are leaning against the tree on the card. Breathe in and out calmly and feel it. Feel the power it draws from the sky. Feel the energy it draws from the earth. Entrust it with what you want to free yourself from and let it give you some of its strength in return. Trust that it will give you exactly what you need right now. You can do this exercise whenever you feel like the world is collapsing around you. Recharge your batteries at your tree and feel just a little bit better afterwards.
