King of the forest – Your calling

The king of the forest welcomes you today. The deer gazes majestically from behind the tree. He is the ruler of this place. Together with him reigns the King of Pentacles, a magical being who is the spirit of this area. He is in every tree, in every plant, his power is in the air that the animals breathe, and so he is also in them. He has laboriously raised this forest. Once there were only small shoots and flowers here, but with patience and time, he has allowed it all to grow into a mighty forest. 

It is peaceful and safe here. There is enough for all the inhabitants. Everything lives and thrives. The King of Pentacles knows what he has built here. He remembers all the efforts, all the tasks, and every single success. Above all, the mighty trees delight him every time he passes by them or spends a night among them. How small they once were. Delicate, tender, and fragile. Today they are strong and provide the inhabitants of the forest with a home and a strong roof.

When we walk humbly through this forest, we see what he has created. He has known many kings and accompanied them from birth to death. But even the King of Pentacles remembers that time has not passed without leaving its mark on him and the forest. He had to watch as forest fires and storms repeatedly destroyed parts of his work. He remembers with sadness how he tried to save what could still be saved. But he also looks back with pride, because he created something wonderful from what remained. He knows that setbacks can always happen. The important thing is that we get through them. We can do this just as he did, with calm, patience, and the memory of why we are doing all this.

You become king of the forest by birthright, but the path to becoming King of Pentacles is hard work. It requires knowledge, patience, courage, and prudence. When we know why we are doing something, we usually find ways to make it happen. Especially when it comes to finding a calling, the “why” is the most important step. What motivates us to do exactly what we want to do? What do we expect from this activity? What do we want to bring to the world and how do we want to be remembered? These questions cannot be answered overnight, and what we may have felt was our calling 10 years ago is no longer the case today. Our calling grows with us. It changes. Never completely, but in the ways we implement it. 

My calling has always been to help others be who they are. I forgot this calling for a while and instead only lived the part where I was there for others and helped them. No matter what. At some point, I forgot myself because I no longer felt my “why.” Today, I know what my personal reason is. I want to help people with my work. I want them to find their way to themselves. I am happy to give advice on the stages that are a little more difficult. But we all have to walk our own paths, and that is exactly what the King of Pentacles supports us in with calmness, patience, and strength.

To avoid ending up like me, use the energy of the “Navigation” card. It will help you formulate your goal and your reason. Think with your heart about where you want to go and why exactly to that place. What draws you there? What are you hoping for? What awaits you? If you like, write it down and keep it with you. Read it again and again over the next few days and see what feelings come up. Is it really exactly what you want? Adjust and formulate it until you are one thousand percent sure. The clearer the goal, the faster the path will reveal itself to you. You will feel when it is time to take the first step. Follow the path, guided by today’s daily magic.
